You have good reason to be afraid. . . .
It was a case that haunts Bobby Dodge to this day—the case that nearly killed him and changed his life forever. Now, in an underground chamber on the grounds of an abandoned Massachusetts mental hospital, the gruesome discovery of six mummified corpses resurrects his worst nightmare: the return of a killer he thought dead and buried. There’s no place to run. . . . Bobby’s only lead is wrapped around a dead woman’s neck. Annabelle Granger has been in hiding for as long as she can remember. Her childhood was a blur of new cities and assumed identities. But what—or who—her family was running from, she never knew. Now a body is unearthed from a grave, wearing a necklace bearing Annabelle’s name, and the danger is too close to escape. This time, she’s not going to run. You know he will find you. . . .
The new threat could be the dead psychopath’s copycat, his protégé—or something far more terrifying. Dodge knows the only way to find him is to solve the mystery of Annabelle Granger, and to do that he must team up with his former lover, partner, and friend D. D. Warren from the Boston P.D. But the trail leads back to a woman from Bobby’s past who may be every bit as dangerous as the new killer—a beautiful survivor-turned-avenger with an eerie link to Annabelle. From its tense opening pages to its shocking climax, Hide is a thriller that delves into our deepest, darkest fears. Where there is no one to trust. Where there is no place left to hide.
From the Hardcover edition.
!1: Best Buy Former police sniper Bobby Dodge decided after the traumatic events of ALONE that his career needed to take a new direction. He decided to finally take the detective exam and leave the split second decisions that his previous assignment had required to some one else. On his first assignment as a detective he was called in to assist on a case headed by none other than D. D. Warren, a friend and former lover. An underground chamber had been found on the site of a closed mental health facility, a chamber filled with the bagged remains of six young women, a chamber with disturbing similarities to the one used by the psychopath that had figured in ALONE. Was this some of his work? Too bad he could not be questioned about the crimes. The best clue they had was a locket engraved with the name on one of the victims. Too bad the owner of the locket appeared in police headquarters to announce that she was very much still alive. She told Bobby and D. D. a story though that added confusion to the case. When she was a young girl mysterious packages arrived for her, left by an unknown stalked. Her parents decided that in order to protect her they needed to run away, and so from the time she had been seven every few months she had a new identity in a new town, always hiding from some unknown danger. Finally as an adult she had gone home to Boston, thinking that after all these years there could not possibly be any more danger. Bobby and D. D. did not know what danger the parents had feared, or if it had passed. What they did know was that the young woman bore a striking resemblance to Catherine, the woman who had nearly destroyed Bobby's career.
This is an intriguing story, an exciting thriller that will keep the reader turning pages far into the night to see what will happen next. There is a strong tie in to the previous book, ALONE, as so while it is possible to read and enjoy this novel with out reading the earlier story in order to fully appreciate this novel read the two books in order. on Sale!

The First Full Length Stephanie Plum Between-the-Numbers Novel from #1 Bestselling Author Janet Evanovich. Turn on all the lights and check under your bed. Things are about to get spooky in Trenton, New Jersey. According to legend, the Jersey Devil prowls the Pine Barrens and soars above the treetops in the dark of night. As eerie as this might seem, there are things in the Barrens that are even more frightening and dangerous. And there are monkeys. Lots of monkeys. Wulf Grimoire is a world wanderer and an opportunist who can kill without remorse and disappear like smoke. He’s chosen Martin Munch, boy genius, as his new business partner, and he’s chosen the Barrens as his new playground. Munch received his doctorate degree in quantum physics when he was twenty-two. He’s now twenty-four, and while his brain is large, his body hasn’t made it out of the boys’ department at Macy’s. Anyone who says good things come in small packages hasn’t met Munch. Wulf Grimoire is looking for world domination. Martin Munch would be happy if he could just get a woman naked and tied to a tree. Bounty hunter Stephanie Plum has Munch on her most-wanted list for failure to appear in court. Plum is the all-American girl stuck in an uncomfortable job, succeeding on luck and tenacity. Usually she gets her man. This time she gets a monkey. She also gets a big guy named Diesel. Diesel pops in and out of Plum’s life like birthday cake – delicious to look at and taste, not especially healthy as a steady diet, gone by the end of the week if not sooner. He’s an über bounty hunter with special skills when it comes to tracking men and pleasing women. He’s after Grimoire, and now he’s also after Munch. And if truth were told, he wouldn’t mind setting Stephanie Plum in his crosshairs. Diesel and Plum hunt down Munch and Grimoire, following them into the Barrens, surviving cranberry bogs, the Jersey Devil, a hair-raising experience, sand in their underwear, and, of course . . . monkeys.
!1: Best Buy So I have been reading this series for years now. I wasn't sure when I started, but I got hooked. This book is definitely not the best - most of the in-between novellas aren't, but it's part of the series. Did I laugh? Yep! I was in tears at one point because I was at work and trying not to laugh out loud. yes - some of the book was way out there and a little repetitive, but I have learned to expect that. And with the time gap between the books, sometimes i need the memory jog. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and hope you do too! on Sale!

The most personal
A young mother and her infant child are ruthlessly gunned down while returning to their car in the garage of a shopping mall. There are no witnesses, and Detective Lindsay Boxer is left with only one shred of evidence: a cryptic message scrawled across the windshield in bloodred lipstick.
The most dangerous
The same night, the wife of A-list actor Marcus Dowling is woken by a cat burglar who is about to steal millions of dollars' worth of precious jewels. In just seconds there is a nearly empty safe, a lifeless body, and another mystery that throws San Francisco into hysteria.
The most exciting Women's Murder Club novel ever
Lindsay spends every waking hour working with her partner, Rich--and her desire for him threatens to tear apart both her engagement and the Women's Murder Club. Before Lindsay and her friends can piece together either case, one of the killers forces Lindsay to put her own life on the line--but is it enough to save the city? With unparalleled danger and explosive action, The 9th Judgment is James Patterson at his compelling, unstoppable best!
!1: Best Buy Of all of the Women's Club Murder mysteries, this one has to be my favorite! James Patterson and Maxine Paetro do a stellar job of weaving a tale that keeps the reader interested, cover-to-cover. I had a very hard time putting this book down, and finished it in a matter of several days!
This has to be one of the toughest cases yet for the Women's Murder Club - a deranged killer is targeting women and children all over San Francisco, and the bodies are piling up. Meanwhile, a string of jewel thefts ends tragically for one high-profile couple, when the wife is murdered, presumably by the jewel thief. Everything is not what it seems as two women struggle to come to grips with their painful marriages, and plot their escape, never really realizing how much danger they will face as the story unravels. Lindsey, Claire, Cindy and Yuki deal with their own challenges as they go about their jobs trying to protect their beloved San Francisco. The ending will surprise readers!
The only disappointing part of the book is that we don't see much of Yuki this time! on Sale!

!1: Best Buy everyone is so disappointed and upset calling this book a scam, expecially fans of this series. If you are really a fan of this series and were eagerly waiting the next book you would know this was not a new release in the series, but a compilation of previously released titles.
You can tell just by looking at the cover this is not a new release but a compilation of her first "in between" novels. It had the names of the first 3 "in between" novels in very large print on the cover. And the title the the book is called "Between the Plums." And it clearly states on the books Amazon page that this is a very special edition containing not one, but three Between-the-Numbers books. I don't know how much clearer they can be.
By now fans of her series should know all her regular titles have the book number in the title and the "in between" novels have "Plum" in the title and they state they are an "in Between Novel". I agree with "Rob H" if you just took the time to read the descriptions you wouldn't be disappointed.
I never write reviews but I was very upset when I read all the reviews stating that the publisher was just trying to cheat people when the description of the book and what it contained were very clearly written. I also got very upset when I read a few reviews state that these were just old books with new characters written in to make a new book, when clearly this wasn't so either. Which makes it so sad that this book has such a low rating just because no one took the 10 seconds it would have taken to read the books description. on Sale!

New York Times bestselling author Tess Gerritsen’s relentless, inventive novels take readers on pulse-racing thrill rides that are as satisfying as they are heart-stopping. Now, in this edge-of-your-seat suspense novel, a mysteriously isolated town stands abandoned as a silent watcher waits.
In Wyoming for a medical conference, Boston medical examiner Maura Isles joins a group of friends on a spur-of-the-moment ski trip. But when their SUV stalls on a snow-choked mountain road, they’re stranded with no help in sight. As night falls, the group seeks refuge from the blizzard in the remote village of Kingdom Come, where twelve eerily identical houses stand dark and abandoned. Something terrible has happened in Kingdom Come: Meals sit untouched on tables, cars are still parked in garages. The town’s previous residents seem to have vanished into thin air, but footprints in the snow betray the presence of someone who still lurks in the cold darkness—someone who is watching Maura and her friends.
Days later, Boston homicide detective Jane Rizzoli receives the grim news that Maura’s charred body has been found in a mountain ravine. Shocked and grieving, Jane is determined to learn what happened to her friend. The investigation plunges Jane into the twisted history of Kingdom Come, where a gruesome discovery lies buried beneath the snow. As horrifying revelations come to light, Jane closes in on an enemy both powerful and merciless—and the chilling truth about Maura’s fate.
±1±: Best Buy Ice Cold is the latest installment in Tess Gerritsen's series featuring medical examiner Maura Isles and homicide detective Jane Rizzoli. This time out, Maura is off to a medical conference in Wymoing. An impulsive change of plan has her taking a road trip with an old acquaintance and his friends, but a series of unfortunate circumstances puts their lives in danger--a snow storm, a wrong turn. Their SUV gets stuck in a ditch in the middle of nowhere, and the only shelter around is a ghost town, Kingdom Come, whose inhabitants apparently fled in the middle of eating dinner. Things get worse from there. It takes very little for their jaunt to turn into a nightmare, only a few moments to make a happy-go-lucky character beg his friends to kill him: one's life really can turn on a dime.
The first half of Ice Cold, before its various mysteries begin to be resolved, is a scary, gripping read, and I had a hard time putting the book down (and turning off the lights) in the midst of it. When the answers start coming the book continues to surprise: what happened at Kingdom Come isn't what we might expect.
Once again after finishing one of Tess Gerritsen's novels I find myself wondering why I haven't read all of the books in her Rizzoli and Isles series by now, start to finish. But this time I did something about it: immediately after finishing Ice Cold I downloaded the first book in the series, The Surgeon, to my Kindle.

In this eagerly awaited follow-up to The Lion's Game, John Corey, former NYPD Homicide detective and special agent for the Anti-Terrorist Task Force, is back. And, unfortunately for Corey, so is Asad Khalil, the notorious Libyan terrorist otherwise known as "The Lion." Last we heard from him, Khali had claimed to be defecting to the US only to unleash the most horrific reign of terrorism ever to occur on American soil. While Corey and his partner, FBI agent Kate Mayfield, chased him across the country, Khalil methodically eliminated his victims one by one and then disappeared without a trace.
Now, years later, Khalil has returned to America to make good on his threats and take care of unfinished business. "The Lion" is a killing machine once again loose in America with a mission of revenge, and John Corey will stop at nothing to achieve his own goal -- to find and kill Khahil.
±1±: Best Buy This book is awesome. If only all fiction flowed this fast then truly would I be in Heaven. Step into the world of John Corey, all time smartass NYC detective who has a quip for every moment and who seems to always manage to solve the most difficult of cases. We were first introduced to him in PLUM ISLAND in which he was recovering from three bullet wounds and on disability leave. Of course, Corey can't keep his nose out of things like any good detective and goes on to investigate a matter related to something mundane like biological warfare. Yeah, right. This tale brings back Corey's greatest antagonist, The Lion, a smooth and most capable terrorist who has returned to get revenge against Corey and others for foiling his plans three years ago (in a previous novel titled LION'S GAME) in which he tried to assassinate all of the pilots who bombed Libya in 1986. Stellar suspense. I finished this novel in less than two weeks. The opening scene is a sky dive with his wife which goes from an adrenaline rush to pure terror. MY GRADE: A minus to A. on Sale!

The Crime: Armed robbery to the tune of nine million dollars. Dom Rizzi robbed a bank, stashed the money, and did the time. His family couldn’t be more proud. He always was the smart one.
The Cousin: Joe Morelli. Morelli is Dom’s cousin. He’s also a cop. Less than a week after Dom’s release from prison, Morelli has shadowy figures breaking into his house and dying in his basement. Meanwhile, Dom has gone missing
The Catastrophe: Moonman. Morelli hires Walter Mooner” Dunphy, stoner and inventor” turned crime fighter, to protect his house. Morelli is low on cash. Mooner will work for potatoes.
The Cupcake: Stephanie Plum. Stephanie and Morelli have a long-standing relationship that involves sex, affection, and driving each other nuts. She’s a bond enforcement agent with more luck than talent, and she’s involved in this bank-robbery-gone-bad disaster from day one.
The Crisis: Ranger. Security expert Carlos Manoso, street name Ranger, has a job for Stephanie that will involve night work. Morelli has his own ideas regarding Stephanie’s evening activities.
±1±: Best Buy Lots of people reviewing the book seem to want character development. I happen to like the Plum gang just as they are. What I want in each book is some adventure and some laughs, and this book gave me both. The characters are pretty much the same as they were in the last several books. Stephanie has gotten better at dealing with skips, and while she doesn't do a lot of bounty hunting in this book, when she does, she almost seems competent. Lula is also pretty much the same, though her relationship with Tank is taken up a notch. There is a lot of Lula in this book, and I get a kick out of her so I was happy. There isn't a whole lot of time for several of the other characters, though everyone makes an appearance, but that is because Stephanie and Lula spend a lot of time dealing with the main adventure and a sub plot that goes along with that adventure. For me, it is about getting to visit with some old friends once a year. I like that we can pick up right where we left off, have some laughs, and enjoy a story. on Sale!

Dear Reader:
In a previous life, before the time of Plum, I wrote twelve short romance novels. Red-hot screwball comedies, each and every one of them. The romances were originally published between the years 1988 and 1992. All immediately went out of print and could be found only at used bookstores and yard sales.
I'm happy to tell you that those stories have now been re-released by HarperCollins, presented in almost original form. I've done only minor editing to correct some embarrassing bloopers missed the first time around.
Hero at Large was the very first book published. It's about a sexy guy who cooks a potholder in spaghetti sauce and charms a single mom and former world-class ice skater with the promise of a ride on his Zamboni. It's got broken bones, giant turkeys, cantankerous cars, and Aunt Edna.
This was the book that changed my life forever and made me a published author. When Hero finally reached the bookstores, I was almost arrested for loitering in Walden's. I stationed myself in the romance section and wouldn't leave until I saw someone buy my book. It took three days!
±1±: Best Buy Love Janet Evanovich for that escapism that comes in every book. Great characters, sexy, sweet. I enjoyed it, more than some of the others, even. This and Manhunt are probably my favs from the before the Plum series books she is rereleasing. on Sale!

±1±: Best Buy I'm a huge fan of Janet Evanovich so when I heard this book was being re-published, I had to snatch it up. From what I understand, this was the very first book she ever wrote. Like her other early, re-published books, the female main character is frustrating and the male main character is persistent and, too good to be true! With Chris's hilarious aunt thrown it, it makes for a cutesy, fun, feel-good quick read. Bob the Dog didn't have much of a part though, but I'm glad this first book helped Bob to evolve. on Sale!

Trenton, New Jersey, bounty hunter Stephanie Plum has inherited a lucky” bottle from her Uncle Pip. Problem is, Uncle Pip didn’t specify if the bottle brought good luck or bad luck. . . .
BAD LUCK:
Vinnie, of Vincent Plum Bail Bonds, has run up a gambling debt of 6,000 with mobster Bobby Sunflower and is being held until the cash can be produced. Nobody else will pay to get Vinnie back, leaving it up to Stephanie, office manager Connie, and file clerk Lula to raise the money if they want to save their jobs.
GOOD LUCK:
Being in the business of tracking down people, Stephanie, Lula, and Connie have an advantage in finding Vinnie. If they can rescue him, it will buy them some time to raise the cash.
BAD LUCK:
Finding a safe place to hide Vinnie turns out to be harder than raising 6,000. Vinnie’s messing up Mooner’s vibe, running up pay-per-view porn charges in Ranger’s apartment, and making Stephanie question genetics.
GOOD LUCK:
Between a bonds office yard sale that has the entire Burg turning out, Mooner’s Hobbit-Con charity event, and Uncle Pip’s lucky bottle, they just might raise enough money to save the business, and Vinnie, from ruin.
BAD LUCK:
Saving Vincent Plum Bail Bonds means Stephanie can keep being a bounty hunter. In Trenton, this involves hunting down a man wanted for polygamy, a turnpike toilet paper bandit, and a drug dealer with a pet alligator named Mr. Jingles.
GOOD LUCK:
The job of bounty hunter comes with perks in the guise of Trenton’s hottest cop, Joe Morelli, and the dark and dangerous security expert, Ranger. With any luck at all, Uncle Pip’s lucky bottle will have Stephanie getting lucky---the only question is . . . with whom?
Sizzling Sixteen . . . so hot, the pages might spontaneously combust!
